Abstract: »Vulnerability Studies explores and examines human vulnerability. In literature, it analyses how the authors depict characters’ emotional, physical, or societal vulnerabilities which contribute to the organic meaning of the text. Being a woman and a rape victim ends up in her double marginalization. Roxane Gay’s An Untamed State (2014) deals with the life of a rape victim who has undergone a traumatic event that reverberated in her mind for a longer period making her more vulnerable. This research analyses how the author portrays the victim’s struggle, vulnerability and its impacts, and resilience.« (Source: Interdisciplinary Research Journals for Humanities)
